Central on the Move
Last night, January 23rd, in our first
meeting of the Church Council, I got a glimpse of what this year might
mean for ministry here at Central. There was genuine excitement at the
varied ministry opportunities available to us in the months ahead. The
conversation was lively and almost everyone added to the wonderful mix
of voices. It was uplifting as we engaged in looking forward to what we
understand God is calling us to do.
This year, 2007, we will focus on evangelism. It is our intent to
invite people to worship with us, study with us, sing with us, pray
with us and become friends with us. The purpose of all of this is to
mentor people into a life-giving relationship with Jesus the Christ. It
is our belief that we can trust the Holy Spirit to use our "open
hearts, open minds and open doors" to speak to the needs of our
soon-to-be new friends.
I prayerfully ask each of us to engage in the ministry of friendship. God is calling us to live the vision!
Grace and peace,
David
