A Time to Celebrate
An interesting thing happened just the other day. The heat of summer
gave way to the cooler temperatures of fall. Even though it happens in
our region every year, I was taken by surprise. I simply did not see
the changes coming, but what a wonderful change it is!
The fall of the year is always an interesting time for us at Central.
Beginning in the spring, continuing throughout the summer, our leaders
have been looking toward the fall. New ministry initiatives have been
planned and are now beginning to show themselves like the arrival of
cooler air. The most noticeable change is the one taking place in and
near the Gathering Room. New seating arrangements have been created in
our gathering area to accommodate the need that some have to sit while
enjoying fellowship. Since fellowship is crucial to the growth of
strong community, the desire is that no one be severely limited in
fellowship because there is no place to sit.
Also notice the changes taking place in the Library, Central Room,
Chapel and Choir rooms. These spaces are being realigned to make way
for a Crib Room and a Toddler Room. We have an emerging need to reach
out to parents of infants and toddlers to provide nursery care that is
safe, inviting and convenient.
Less noticeable in the changes is a renewed emphasis upon young adult
ministries. Two new meeting times will be available to promote
fellowship and discipleship. One meeting will occur on Sunday morning,
during the regular Church School time and the other meeting will take
place on Wednesdays at 6:30.
These new ministry initiatives reflect a new, wonderful breeze blowing
throughout the ministries of Central. This is indeed a time to
celebrate.
Grace and Peace,
David
